Plenum Boxes
A plenum in HVAC systems is an enclosed box or chamber connected to the HVAC unit, designed to distribute, supply, or return air within a building.
Each HVAC system typically incorporates two main types of plenums:
- – Supply Plenum – Distributes conditioned (heated or cooled) air from the HVAC unit into the ductwork system and throughout the building.
- – Return Plenum – Collects used air from the space and directs it back to the HVAC unit for filtration, conditioning, and recirculation.
Plenum boxes play a critical role in ensuring balanced airflow, efficient system performance, and indoor comfort.
